Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru (English translation: You have got to work like fire, Kumar) is a 2013 Tamil romantic comedy film directed by Sundar C. and produced by Kushboo Sundar starring Siddharth, Hansika Motwani and Ganesh Venkatraman, with Santhanam as a comedian. The film was dubbed in Telugu language as Something Something, in which Brahmanandam replaces Santhanam for the Telugu version. The shoot started in January 2013. The film released on 14 June 2013 to positive reviews and became a commercial success. The film is loosely based on Tamil short film “Samosa”.

Vithal (Mohan Babu) is a rowdy who commands respect from state heads like CM. He hates women and remains a bachelor even at the age of 45. Kaveri (Charmme Kaur) is a naughty college student. She grabs the attention of Vithal and makes him fall in love with her. She does it for fun, though she is in a love with another guy (Abbas). Plot: The movie is about Velan, a responsible son of a village landlord. Adored by the villagers for his good deeds, Prashanth gets a shock when Vijayakumar informs that he is his foster son. A shocked Velan sets out on a mission to know about his past. He reaches Chennai and comes to know that his family members were killed by a dreaded gangster Deva. He had then vowed to kill him and his gang. In the name of Jambhavan, he starts to kill rowdies in the society. Suffering an injury in his head, Velan loses memory and is later adopted by Vijayakumar. He comes to know that his job was just half-done. The rest is how he puts an end to Fefsi Vijayan and his men coming to Chennai.

Plot : Thamizh is a con man. The first half of the film builds his character by showing how effortlessly he wins the confidence of people, only to leave them devastated. Director Premnath really knows this guy. Instead of being appalled by him, he's fascinated. The character intrigued me as well, I wanted Thamizh to defraud someone of a huge sum of money and get away with it. My appreciation goes out to the lead actor, Snehan for that. However, that desire simmered down quite soon. Thamizh's likeability reduced as he was being consumed by the Tamil hero image. Suddenly, he starts beating up people, saves a woman from rowdies and decides to be an unmayaana nanban. The extent a con man goes to do good to people around. The film, just like its character is over ambitious.
